Off road track from Kazangulu to Kafue

Postby Dave Theron » Tue Apr 12, 2011 7:54 am

Between Katima Mulilo and Kazangulu in Zambia is a gravel road (D787) heading north towards Kafue. At the end of this gravel road, at a town called Mulobezi, is an off-road track heading south-east and then swinging north to the southern border of Kafue, where it meets Kafue's gravel road. At this point it would appear that one could continue north to Nanzhila campsite, or turn east and head for the south-eastern entrance gate.
My questions are:
1. Is the off-road track from the D787 to south Kafue passable?
2. Once Kafue is reached is one obliged to turn east to the entrance gate, or can one keep going north to Nanzhila campsite

Dave - best to ask this question on the Overland Mailing List. Very few people read these pages.
