"My girlfriend and I will finish our graduate work in South Africa in late-November/early-December and are planning to drive from Cape Town to east Africa. We’re going to buy an older 4x4 (probably a Series 3 Land Rover or Toyota pickup, etc.) in South Africa and equip it for a budget long haul. We are both experienced travelers and we’re not planning any crazy off-road stuff. We will be finishing our little overland in late-January/early-February so we’re looking for someone to buy the vehicle, tools, spare parts, “furniture”, camping gear, etc., somewhere in east Africa for their own turn-key adventure south.

The buyer could be involved in the choice of vehicle and the equipment included and we can really talk about costs and other details later. This is a frugal endeavor so at this point we are looking at someone only investing around US$2000-4000 for everything, depending on the vehicle and such.
